Mixed Bag

The highlight of the day was first thing even before getting into the Butser carpark with a cracking, beautifully lit Short-eared Owl along the roadside stubble, flushing Skylarks and Meadow Pipits before itself being driven westwards by crows and magpies.

On the hill just the usual suspects whilst surrounded by noisy dog walkers and their casually discarded blue poop bags!! These people are, literally such sh*ts!!

Rant over; only one Ring Ouzel heard in a quick circuit although I guess more must have been hidden. Met Andy on the way out so maybe he may have bumped into some.

Back home briefly and a couple of flyover Siskins.

At Titchfield five male Pochards offshore but little else.

Below Common Darter, Cormorant and a Common Lizard regrowing its tail  plus a very distant Fox.

Stomorhina lunata was the best insect next to an unidentified ichneumon/parasitic wasp with a huge ovipositor, maybe a job for Facebook group.
