Some periodic ramblings about bird, butterflies, moths, dragonflies, hovers and anything else that pops into my head.

A mid-morning outing with the olds for a coffee at QE and then off to TH.
Just two jaunts up the eastside with little of note and just Willow Warbler, Blackcap and several Chiffchaffs singing and three fly-by Swallows.
The Ruff was still present albeit briefly.
Some Andrena spp (above, possibly dorsata) were plentiful in one area and the first Episyrphus balteatus supplemented many E pertinax but nothing else on the hover front.
The heron was 'frogging' in the meadow and this female Shoveler dropped into the ditch with its partner; no sight/sound of Water Voles today.
Comma was new for the year plus a couple of Peacocks but no other spp.
