The Isle of Wight, and indeed most of the Solent, were swathed in torrential rain forcing an extended stay in the restaurant waiting for the weather to clear and when it did, the wind died away, the sun popped out and that produced at least fifteen species or genus of hoverflies including new for year Anasymia (above), Tropidia scita and Baccha elongata mostly on Marsh Marigold.
At the west side log pile and Darter's Dip two very small Common Lizards, one above.
The east side gatepost and surrounding vegetation were covered in Agelastica alni, the Alder Leaf Beetle once the sun had come out.
