Zeissless for summer..

Prior to departure and whilst loading the car the local Starlings noisily alerted to a Sparrowhawk circling overhead.

Bins off for service/repair via Keith so won't be back for a month or two.

Another super day with the downside that birds and insects are pretty hard to find - precious little on the bee and hover front although this smart female Andrena fulva was nice.

An hour of 'instruction' from John with a few prominents (Great, Lesser Swallow, Pebble) plus Brindled Beauty and this docile May Bug.

At Ivy South plenty of damselfly exuviae on the reed with several ghostly coloured adults recently emerged, drying out plus several recently emerged, fresh and flying Red-eyeds.

Plenty of Sand Martin activity but no chance of anything perching up for a portrait, so just this crummy flight shot. Lots of activity amongst the carp in Ibsley Water presumably spawning and on the way back for lunch a Cuckoo was calling distantly towards Lapwing Hide.

Elsewhere, two more Green Hairstreaks along the access track and this Green-veined White feeding nearby. Queen Hornet and Broad-bodied Chaser seen by others.
