*Yawn* , more Elephants

At  home 35 moths of 16 species with Blue-bordered Carpet being the best and the first Meal Moth for a while plus a couple waiting confirmation.

A Buzzard, unlike yesterday's motorway victim, was perched up like a sentinel on a stancheon where the motorways join. Arrived before J6x4 and spent some time with wall-perched moths, notably Ringed China Mark. As yesterday the moths were warm and keen to go with a Small Elephant magically disappearing whilst two EHMs and a Poplar hung about. Biggest surprise was three of us going through the trap and NOT finding a Scarce Merveille du Jour which was pointed out to us by a small boy and his family!! Embarassing!!

Two Grass Snakes on 'the stump' but little else and no birds other than two Med Gulls over. A couple of beetles awaiting ID also.
